Ben Langenfeld, P.E. —

Partner/Principal Consultant

Mr. Langenfeld is a partner of Greg Lewicki and Associates with more than 15 years of experience as a principal consultant in the mining and environmental industry. Ben’s leadership and industry knowledge provides our clients with solutions to difficult mining and environmental issues.

Ben has developed many mineral exploration, mining, and reclamation plans for mines in the State of Colorado. His extensive project history with federal, state, county and municipal permitting for metal mining, coal mining and oil/gas drilling has led him to learn exactly what is necessary for mines to be compliant, successful, and easily permitted. His design experience includes sediment generation monitoring and reduction designs; complete mine designs (from mine layout, to operations design, to reclamation plans); ventilation system designs; and coal mine pillar designs.

Ben works with clients to create problem-solving strategies that address issues that have or can potentially arise at a particular site. He has experience conducting slope stability and hydrological erosion analysis; water quality analysis and discharge compliance planning; environmental compliance analysis; environmental impact mitigation planning; ground water hydrological and geochemical analysis; and environmental control plan evaluation and quality control.

Through his ability to translate complex technical issues, Ben has a successful history negotiating with neighbors and public officials on major development projects. His ability to present complex engineering scenarios with clear and concise language has proven highly effective in bringing diverse stakeholders together and achieving win-win solutions.

Katie Todt, P.G.

Senior Consultant

Our geologist and senior consultant at Greg Lewicki and Associates, Ms. Todt, has a diverse set of mining, environmental, and general contracting experience. Backed by her strong work ethic and analytical skills, Katie provides expert support to our clients.

Katie’s strength is her geology work. She excels with geologic mapping of economic and industrial mineral resources and dimension stone quality grading; geologic mapping with respect to surface and underground mine planning and design; geologic mapping with respect to fracture frequency and orientation; rock sampling and testing; and monitoring fracture fluctuations. Her geoscience work provides our team with a deeper understanding when it comes to identifying and solving geologic solutions for our clients.

Katie is experienced with mine directed permitting including DRMS, CDPHE DWR, CDPHE WQCD, CDPHE AQCD, BLM, USACE, and various counties throughout Colorado. She is also well practiced in preparing site wide plans and programs such as SWMP, SPCC, ESA, NPDES, and other documents required to operate a successful mine or quarry in the State of Colorado. Katie has an environmental background with water rights usage and conversion; augmentation; hydrological monitoring of stream flow & potential mining contaminants; and surface water control and isolation from the surrounding environment.
